Workflows & Automation (Preview)
A first look at the no-code automation engine BillionBiz is building — trigger, condition, and action rules, shown here as a preview of what's coming.
Preview only — not yet active
Workflows automation is not yet active. The screen shows representative examples only to illustrate the direction the platform is heading. You cannot create, edit, or run a live automation from this screen today — treat everything below as a preview of what's coming, not a how-to.
Screen: Extensions → Workflows.
The idea
The automation engine is designed to let you link store events to actions without writing any code — for example, "when a customer abandons their cart, wait two hours, then send a recovery email." Each workflow is built from three parts:
- A trigger — an event (like "cart abandoned") or a schedule (like "daily at 9am").
- Conditions (optional) — a check before acting, like "only if no order was placed since."
- One or more actions — send an email, create a request, update a status, and similar.
Illustrative examples shown today
The screen currently displays three example workflows to demonstrate what the finished feature will look like. These are static demonstrations, not live automations you can toggle:
Examples on the screen
- Abandoned Cart Recovery — waits 2 hours after a cart is abandoned, sends a recovery email, then follows up 24 hours later with a discount code if the order still hasn't been placed.
- Low Stock Alert — checks inventory daily at 9:00am, and when a product falls below its threshold, notifies admins, logs a reorder request, and marks the product low-stock.
- Welcome Email Series — after a new customer registers, sends a welcome email, follows up 3 days later with product recommendations, and 7 days later with a first-purchase discount.
What's coming
When automation launches, the plan is for merchants to create, enable, disable, and monitor workflows entirely within the dashboard, with a visual builder that shows each workflow's trigger → condition → action flow so the logic is readable at a glance.
