Settings Hub & Preferences

The single entry point for store configuration, notification and shipping-provider preferences, and your personal display preferences.

Settings is where store configuration lives — most of the screens in this guide that aren't reachable from a left-navigation link are reachable from here instead.

Screen: click Settings at the bottom of the left navigation to land on the Settings hub.

Note

Several settings screens are reached only through this hub, not a direct left-nav shortcut. Get in the habit of starting from Settings and picking a card, rather than expecting every screen to have its own sidebar entry.

The Store group

Cards here cover how your storefront behaves day to day. This group only appears if your account includes an online store (hosting-only accounts without a storefront don't see it).

CardWhat it covers
GeneralStore name, contact details, currency, timezone, and weight unit
NotificationsEmail and SMS notifications customers receive, and when each is sent — opens the same screen as Notification Preferences below
Templates & DocumentsEmail/SMS templates, invoice template designer, invoice configuration
CheckoutCheckout fields, guest checkout, terms & conditions — coming soon
DomainsYour store URL, custom domain, SSL status, DNS guidance
MaintenanceMaintenance mode, holiday banner, scheduled downtime
Notification PreferencesEmail/SMS delivery toggles per store event (see below)
Shipping Provider PreferencesPriority order for your shipping providers (see below)

The Account & Access group

CardWhat it covers
Users & RolesInvite teammates, assign roles — see User Management & Roles
Billing & PlanSubscription, payment method, invoices, plan upgrades — see Plans & Billing
Audit LogsWho changed what, when, and from where — see Audit Logs
PreferencesTheme, language, SSO, API access, and personal preferences (see below)

Notification Preferences

This screen (Settings → Notification Preferences, same screen the Notifications card under Store opens) is an event-by-channel matrix covering email and SMS only (WhatsApp messaging is configured separately — see WhatsApp Integration). For each store event, toggle email and SMS delivery on or off independently, and open a template to customize its subject and body for that channel.

Alerts to you: emails to your own admin inbox

Below the customer-facing matrix, an Alerts To You section (styled as lower-case "alerts to you." on the newer v2 sidebar) holds two toggles that email you — the store admin — rather than your customers:

ToggleSends an email to your admin account when
Email me when a new order arrivesA new order is placed on your store.
Email me on low or out-of-stock alertsA product's stock crosses your low-stock threshold or runs out.

Both are off by default — you have to opt in. A footnote under the two toggles states this plainly: "Sent to your store admin account email. Off by default."

No configurable recipient address

These alerts always go to your store admin account's own login email — there is no field to enter a different or additional address. If you want a different inbox (a shared ops mailbox, for example), you'll need to forward from the admin account's inbox; there's no way to redirect these two alerts from this screen.

Troubleshooting: why aren't I getting order or stock emails?

Check three things in order: (1) both toggles here are off by default on every store — confirm you've actually turned the one you want on; (2) these emails only ever reach the store admin account's own email address, so check that inbox (and spam folder) rather than any other team member's; (3) for the low-stock alert specifically, confirm the product's stock has actually crossed your configured low-stock threshold — see Inventory & Stock for how that threshold is set.

Shipping Provider Preferences

This screen (Settings → Shipping Provider Preferences) lists the shipping providers your store has configured. Drag a provider to reorder the list — the provider at the top becomes your default for auto-fulfillment, and the ones below it are tried as fallbacks in order. Click Save once you're happy with the order; unsaved changes are discarded if you navigate away.

Preferences

The Preferences screen (Settings → Preferences) holds settings that apply across your whole admin experience:

What's on this screen

  • Appearance — toggle light or dark mode; the choice is remembered across sessions.
  • Notifications — enable or disable in-app notifications (the bell badge) for order alerts, messages, and system events.
  • Dashboard language — choose English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, or Arabic; Arabic switches the whole layout to right-to-left automatically.
  • Store defaults — default currency (INR, USD, EUR, GBP, AED, or SGD), weight unit (grams or kilograms), default shipping cost, and default shipping mode (Surface or Express). Click Save defaults to apply.
  • Payment gateway — a summary card for your connected payment gateway; full setup lives under Plugins.

Advanced, plan-gated capabilities

Three capabilities are visible to every merchant on this screen but only unlock on plans that include them — each shows a lock icon and the plan tier required until you upgrade:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO) — let your team log in with your company's existing identity provider.
  • Developer / API Access — generate credentials to connect BillionBiz to your own tools.
  • Custom Staff Roles — define permission sets beyond the five built-in roles.

If any of these aren't included in your plan, the description tells you which tier unlocks it — go to Plans & Billing to upgrade.

Note

AI-driven "smart defaults" for Preferences are shown as a coming-soon teaser on this screen — not a working feature yet.
